Hi all, your site has been great to look at for info, however here is my problem.
I have a 1992 1UZFE into a T bucket. Had the engine fired up prior to strip down for body work. body back on rewired again but now will not run.
The vehicle turns over fires but then stalls. As it has headers on it i can feel which pipes/cyclinders are getting hot (Ie getting spark and fuel)
They are 1 4 6 and 7 all the others are cold to the touch. this happens to be the left ignitor / dizzy. I have an after market fuel pump and have good fuel pressure. I have swaped ignitors around, no go, tried another ecu as the first one we got with the loom was burnt out from the wreck. Any ideas please help as it is so close to running i am going mad.

Thanks

Well, check for spark on all cylinders - pull the wire from the spark and hold it near a metal object, you should see the spark. If you dont see the spark on the other four cylinders, check you ignition coil for that distributor - there are two of them on the 1UZ.

I have done that sorry I should have said so. Pulled the lead from number number 7 and number 5, both on different coils both had spark.

I will try to give you more details. Car winds over fires up then stalls, Rev counter goes, but as soon it fires up you stop cranking and the car stalls. Have checked circuit between ecu and tps, airflow. No mods to engine all sock standard.

If an igniter is faulty or disconnected mine will start then immediately stop. With a faulty fuel pump ecu mine will start and run for a few seconds and then stop.

Sounds very like a stuffed coil which is very common and gives exactly these symptoms or maybe ignitor or ignitor earth - they need to have a clean earth to the body of the ignitor. Might be worth checking the spark plugs aren't fouled from stale fuel. I change enough 1uz coils to keep them in stock - cheers
