that answered all of my questions, thank you. people on that site seem high strung. i like this E30 even though they're 19s. http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=61606&highlight=rim+size+e30
maybe i'll use 18s and only drive hard in a straight line. i would be willing to sacrafice a little handling if it wasn't too bad. maybe I'll get two sets of rims. thanks for the info. do you like this wing. I just bought it on a impulse buy on Ebay. i couldn't find one anywhere else. maybe too much but f-it they probably sell one for $50 somewhere

Year they can be a little high strung, they are all enthusists though and most of them no ALOT about e30s. I consider myself to no alot about e30s to so if you have any more questions just ask.
Trust me your car wont ride well on 18s, it will look really good but be abit of a dog to drive, very harsh.
That e30 on your link is a m3 they have a different chassis setup to normal e30s so they ride different still 19s are way to big.
Mate that wing you got is an mtech 1 by the look of it, quite rare and a great addition to your car. Ive got on one mine lol (ps these are 17s on my car,ive seen the light since (16s) then and i will not go back
enjoy

Nice

your car looks awesome. thats my favorite paint color too. my father imported one in 1985 and it was silver. i've always thought they didn't look right unless they were silver. I've been planning on painting mine some variance of silver. does yours have blue pearl mixed in. the tail does look the best. i like it much more than the regular M3 style tail. Thanks for the suggestion on the rims. What you said makes sense. what do you think about these rims.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/16-B...ryZ66482QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I want factory BMW rims with tires already mounted.

Thanks for you comments :) its actually cosmos blue with a few extra tweaks.Looks more silver as you say tho.

Those rims are pretty average to be totally honest, Now if you convert to 5lug i would totally dig these wheels, they are very sought after and look AMAZING on e30s.

They are nice and fat to, will fill the guards very well. Will need some decent springs shocks tho

RIP E30 Spare tire well and E30 Fuel Tank

I'm putting the finishing touches on the Fuel Tank. Awesome fit in the E30. I welded a plate and a thicker plate over the spare tire compartment. The 2005 Nissan 350Z Muffler looks great. Its hard to tell from this picture angle. When I get the rear bumper on it will look awesome. Also note the M-tech tail on the car.

how do you post pictures so they show up automatically?

here is a sound clip of a Nissan 350z
YouTube - 2007 Nissan 350z. 1 of ___

I wonder what it will sound like with the Lexus UZ

Looking really good mate! much better with the kit to. im sure it will sound good, i prob wouldnt use any other mufflers at all as that will be a quite muffler from factory. What size exhaust are you using?

running

just got it running. the exhaust sounds great. the engine is so silky smooth in this car. it was meant to be. i just need rims and shocks. i'm running 2.25 exhaust back to 2.5inch exhaust.

no

no, its 2.25 duals going into the nissans 2.5 inch single pipe. the duals run back to about where the transmission ends. then its all 2005 350z exhaust from there back. it sounds really clean and powerful. i'll post a picture of it later tonight. the 350z exhaust looks mandrel bent. the whole system is stainless. I used both flex pipes off the Nissan.
another interesting thing I pulled off that could be done to any conversion is the trans mount. I replaced the LS400 transmission mount with a common off the shelf Chevy TH350/TH400 Energy Suspension polyurethane mount. I bought it at autozone for around $20. I made a steel plate that bolts to the LS400s trans crossmember and the Chevy mount bolts right to that. I used the steel structure from the LS400s mount, then I welded the plate that comes with the Chevy mount to the Ls400s Trans mount structure. the great thing about doing this, is that the mount became adjustable. The plate that I welded to the LS400s trans mount structure is slotted so you can move the trans barely back and fourth until you have it right where you need it, then tighten the two bolts down. i'll post pictures of it too.
i changed my motor mounts about 5 times before I was happy with them
I ended up making motor mounts out of polyurethane E30 Subframe mounts. I'll post those too. its rock solid. they will hold any horsepower or torque numbers now.

Finished the shifter extension and box re-assembly last night. Just need to rebuild the release bearing and setup the clutch and put motor and box etc back in :) Maybe done this weekend if no other parts needed.

rims

I bought a set of 16" rims off a 98 Z3. they look new/unused and were super cheap. I think i'll wrap them in BFG G force 2 tires. i don't have a camera anymore, otherwise I would show them on here. I'm ordering the stud kit from vacmotorsports.com to eliminate the lug bolt set-up. I can't stand that design. I wish I knew why BMW used them all these years.

Nice its really commin along! we just finished my clutch, its heavy! we will prob have to tweak the fork angle to soften it up. Lookin forward to the 1uz meet,i wont be able to detail my engine for a while tho :(

Heres i pic i took today, put a new lip on the front.Old school german cool

Nice they should look good mate! i like the oldschool look but your will look awesome as well im sure! year a stud kit is a good idea, ill prob do it aswell as i dont like the lug setup! its not bad at all on proper e30 alloys with the correct hubcentric centres tho (like my schnitzers hehe)
