AEM EMS for 1UZ-FE using a mod'd 30-1100.
I recently picked up a 92 SC400 (HKS HyperMax II's, 19" Axis Penta's, and a custom 3.5" CAI thus far) and I will be modifying a 30-1100 2JZ EMS to go on it so it's plug and play. (no chopping of the harness required, the right way to do things IMHO) 22 of the pin assignments are different between the 1UZ & 2JZ as far as I can tell by my research thus far so the mods required should be relatively easy compared to making everything from scratch. (I'm actually going to be mod'n two of them because a co-worker also has an SC400 and wants one too)
Please wait until I post a "how to" before asking me questions on how to do this, what years will be applicable, etc... Thanks. (Red Supra & cribbj, since you're so close, let me know if you have any last minute questions)
I'd like to have something working here in a couple weeks but this is not an official project so I'm doing it on my own time. I'm also in the midst of doing an RB25DET swap on my S13 so I'll have to find some time here to knock it out.
I plan on providing information on the mods, dyno charts for stock ECU vs EMS, and a startup calibration for a completely stock car with full auto tranny control here so others can duplicate it if they so wish. I'll also try to provide info if people are looking to do a later the engines (2UZ, 3UZ) with the stock 36-2 crank wheel and any VVTi control. The EMS can do cam angle control independently on up to two different cams. It works pretty good on our 350Z drift car and is good for about 100 lb-ft of torque at some points down low vs. the cam solenoids unplugged on the VQ. Please note that because of the extensive mods required, doing any of this will void your EMS warranty.
If there's enough demand, we may sell an EMS specifically for this application in the future, but we'll have to see.
I'll keep you guys posted.
