what would be the syptoms of a faulty knock sensor?

a few weeks back i found the knock sensor broken (as seen below)
ive glued it back together and i havent noticed any problems as of yet
but i have a feeling that someday it will come off, when that time comes what should i look out for?

The best test to see if it was working would be to load the engine up in a high gear by driving up a hill slowly and accelarating hard.

If the engine pings you most likely have an issue.

The broken tab shouldn't stop it working.

It's a fairly important part of engines tune...
I would atleast replace it with a second hand one...
Some one on these forums living closer to you may have a spare ...??

It's simple to fix. You can use a female electrical connector butt, solder it to the existing wire (you must cut the stock plug), and plug the new connector butt over the sensor post. But make sure the connector butt is small enough to plug snuggly over the sensor post. Then you crimp the connector butt a little before you plug over the sensor post, so you can have a very tight plug. You can also epoxy that connector butt to the sensor post if you want to be really sure it won't ever come off. I even used this method on the fuel injectors on my previous cars with no problem whatsoever.
