1st off my name is Sean, I have a 97 SC400 with a custom turbo kit. I received this car when I traded my 04 Lexus is300 for it. what I thought I was getting was a nicely done sc400. What I got was a bunch of BS but I'm still happy with the car and trade. I was told the car had a JDM thicker rod motor with 65k and a built trans by Titian motor sports. What I actually got was a stock 97 motor that came in the car and a stock trans. Motor has 207k miles on it and compression is 150 in number 1 cylinder. The rest of the cylinders are 210 to 205. The only thing in this car the last owner was truthful about is the EMS 4424 stinger standalone and the walbro 400 fuel pump. The 42lb injectors he said it has are nowhere to be found. The stock 252cc densos are there tho.
The custom turbo kit was done at a shop called RPM turbo & injectors in Florida. The kit itself looks to be well made. Good welds and V bands. The turbo is way to big right now for being maxed out in fuel. It's a Masterpower t76. The intercooler has custom 3" pipping to a eBay intercooler. It had a tail wastage and and tail bov. Tial bov I was told is legit, but it's not.
Now for the good stuff. Despite the fact it has a bad ring in number 1 cylinder the car still made power. 350rwhp and 347rtq. On 9lbs of boost. Couldn't go further due to maxed out the stock oem injectors. AFRs on the leaner side of 12.2s but it seems to be fine. The 1st dyno run was 320whp. Now the kicker, last owner claimed 523 on 12lbs lol. All in all I'm happy. The car looks amazing as you will see and pulls damn nicely for a heavy ass car. It's faster then my basically stock is300.
