Greetings from the South, (Africa). Cant help asking why alot of you guys are throwing away good money buying and re-building Lexus V8's for various applications/instalations. Folk here in SA are dropping them into everything. Mate of mine has a Lexus V8 in his de Tomaso Pantera for goodness sake.- Why not buy low-millage, two year old Japanese cut-out engines availabile right here in SA or direct from Japan? Blow the motor up track-day on saturday, buy another one on monday and you are racing again the next weekend. Fun & Games. Drag racing here in SA has had a huge revival due to the low cost of buying these low millage motors and not just Jap ones; Audi, VW, BMW etc. Youngsters are running turbo'd Mazda's, Hondas, Subaru's motors in all sorts of vehicles. Would you believe a Mazda RX8 Twin-Turbo rotary (voted Best Engine in the World a few years ago) with gearbox costs under $1200;00. No kidding. Lexus V8's go for similar prices would you believe....
