I deleted my hydralic fan pump and used the body of the hydralic fan pump as a place to hold and mount an idler pulley... What I did is gut the fan pump and then enlarged one of the mounting fan pump screws and installed a free spinning idler as illustrated in the pic below.. Drilling and tapping a larger hole in the fan pump body is very easy as it is made from alluminum.. This has worked well for me for several years now.. Total cost of this job was $15 or so....
