Anyone wired up a Soarer loom without this ECU?

I'm not sure what it looks like but it appears to have 5 pins, so could be anywhere.

Anyone know how they work?

Helps a little bit as it shows the diagram slightly clearer.

But I still don't know if I can hook the pump directly up to FPC or DI or if I have to use the fuel pump controller.

I suppose I'll have to wait.
If its only a 5v output, I'll just get a 5v relay and use that.

i have tachometric relays for sale specifically for this purpose

they run off the rpm signal ig- in the diagnostic plug

i have not measured the output of D1 which is the mnain trig but even if it was 5 v it should trig a relay

i think its an actual pulse maybe

fpr is the 2 speed trigger

FPC is shown as a 5volt output.
DI is shown as an Input.

I'll try get a factory fuel pump ecu before I do anything else.

ok they are hard to find and can fetch up to 200 bucks

but from past experiences fpc is fuel pump control

which i think triggers the change from 10 volts to 13 volts to the fuel pump

Di is the signal that triggers fuel pump to turn on

the reason they are not with the engine is not many wreckers know bout them

and they are located in the left hand rear quarter behind the trim

so when u buy a front cut u dont get the fuel pump ecu

Yeah, thats what I suspected.
Once its all wired up I'll check the outputs of the ecu, see if I can just use it to trigger a relay or something.
Would much prefer factory thing though.

cool
but if anyone needs any
i have found some tachometric relays

they n everun of a weak rpm signal

when u turn ign on they turn on pump for 2 seconds

then when it gets an rpm it runs fuel pump

if no rpm it turns pump off

then when u turn the car off it turns pump on for a sec then turns everything off

Peewee, maybe this will make it easier to sort out. Sorry about the Jpegs pdf are too big to post.

40 bucks wired up to have a neg output trigger
30 bucks wired up for positive output trigger

plus postage

hey lambo those diagrams dont mean help when its very very hard to find any fuel pump ecus out of a soarer

what u do is when u order the engine u tell the importers that u need the fuel pump ecu

some will help others will not
not many importers know whatthey are lookin for

I got the loom off Zuffen, but I don't know where he got it from.
I didn't know about the fuel pump ECU at the time, but I wish I did.

Those diagrams are for ecu's with fuel pump relays, not fuel pump controllers, big difference. Thanks anyway Lambo.

Those prices sound good sideshow.
I'll wire it all up and get it running with the FP bridged in the check connector for the moment, do some tests on the ecu outputs.
Failing finding a solution I'll give you a PM.

hi Peewee, sorry about that thought you were trying to find out what was inside the ecu, or what it did

Regards
Lambo

ok cool i have bought 20 units so i have plenty to go round

i hope to one day get more into parts and stuff thats y im goin to usa see whats around

Found a Soarer at a wreckers today.
Got the FPC out of it.
I paid through the nose @ $75 but meh, means it all wires up as per factory.

The unit is a switch mode power supply triggered by a 5v pulse width modulated signal on fpc (fuel pump control) and the engine ecu monitors a diagnostics line DI for voltage feedback from the fuel pump supply

and if you cannot get the fuel pump ecu - early Volvo's ran a rpm triggered relay as their fuel pump control (very cheap)
