running rich???

hey guys, i have a 1uz in a hilux running a pod and it idels all good but seems to run very rich, when its running all i can smell is petrol and gets alot worse when i rev it hard. here is a pick of my pod and where it is.

any way to lean it out. running standard computer

y do u want to lean it out

u have a faultin the electricla sor a vac leak or this or that

could be a million reasons but dont have time tolist them all heheh

make sure if it idles smooth its hard to tell if it has a miss if yr a novice mechanic

u couldhave a leaking injecotr
or faulty maf or or an air leak or could be anyhting

has it ever run good did a backyard guy do the wiring and it has a problem

is the engine ecu and the engine wiring and the engine all one complete set

or did u buy parts from all over australia

put the car on a dyno to get the hp, afr, torque, check sensors (exhaust, engine temp) etc

What have you done with the air intake pipe to the IAC valve?

maybe its the hole in the cam cover letting the air in hehe

Good spotting MADMONT. If the hose to the IAC valve has been blanked then most likely the throttle stop has been would on to make it idle , the ecu then will give it extra fuel as the TPS setting will be incorrect. A good idea will be to reconnect the IAC valve hose and reset the throttle stop using the TPS idle signal as a reference. This may help solve your problem. Cheers
