Hey all, Just thought I'd share some info on powersteer mods that ive just had done.
Had a pump which needed a rebuild so sent it up to brissy (ultimate power steering) to have it rebuilt and modified.
We didnt want more pressure, but did want to increase flow as we're running a 2" ram which shifts alot of fluid. Ive got a mate running the lexus pump on a big ram and found that it was inconsistant. Had it modified and its now fine.
Flow when it was received was 7L/m at idle, 9L/m at 2,300rpm.
Flow now is is 9L/m at idle, 14L/m at 2,300. And its no longer making airbubbles in the fluid...
Total cost was 400 which seemed a bit exe to me, 275 for the rebuild, 125 to have it modified for more flow. It was making a terrible whine when the fluid warmed up, not anymore.
