I have always loved turbine engines and axial turbine superchargers. I have recently found a pair of turbo molecular pumps for sale at a price that's almost free. I started to wonder if I unbolted the turbine stage section from the electric motor drive unit could the turbine part be made to spin by belt drive or coupled to the hot side of a t4 turbo. I understand that this may not be the simplest or most standard way of boosting a engine but more of a "can I" not "should I". I would be only looking for 6 to 10 PSI and the CFM on a turbine would be killer. Also, what's not to love about the statement "I use a turbine to boost my V12 supra" LOL.
So any thoughts on drive systems, heat issues, CFM, boost ccontrol EXT.
