Point taken, contact area would be minimal without adding material in that area.
Might be time to start thinking about some billet heads and a billet sc manifold to go with the block.

Welllll - this block has taken long enough (still here in the shed machining away). I just want to race LOL. If the heads hold the power - I will stick with them, and just get a 3.5 stroker crank made to give me 330 cubes and I am done. Have thought about billet heads, but whew (big sigh) its a lot of work.

those cnc heads i was talking about earlier paul, ended up flowing 286cfm @ 28 (1/2" lift) on std valves. look nice too yet to try the 2mm OS valves tho... should be interesting

Going a bit off track now but who cares, what does a std head flow?

I was just typing up the same question. The goal would be to get over 300 - maybe 330 like SBC Dart heads. I am interested in the oversize valves to get those figures.

I knew I had seen the flows somewhere. That's some good numbers on those cnc heads....
