I am didier, i live in Thailand where UZ are appreciated, I've just (already one year ago and 30000km on the clock!! time is running so fast!) built a Hilux 1999 4x2 1UZ (complete engine+gear). I am swapping a 3UZ on a land cruiser (engine only).

Well, this is a pretty difficult swap as the engine shack of a 99 is really small.
The gear is original 1UZ 4 speed auto, the rear axle is from an Isuzu trooper (discs brakes and wider) with a isuzu Dmax (Rodeo) 4wd with a 100% auto lock. The front 4 pots brakes came from a toyota Aristo (or similar). The dash from a Camry, speed limit removed, original ECU, injected LPG system Stephanelly with 66 litre tank.
It's a plaisure to run it everyday, here in Thailand as LPG litre is about 30 US cents...very cheap to run.
Since a year, i had to add oil coolers, hydraulic fan, steering, gearbox. I had also to mange to get more ventilation under the hood!
