Hi all,
Just wondering if any one out there has experienced the same problem Im having. The engine develops a vibration around 1700 rpm. It disapears around 1850. I have a suspect faulty harmonic dampner as it appears to wobble at idle but when reved it seems to not woble. Has any one had a faulty balancer before and did it make the engine vibrate at certain rpm. Or could this vibration im experiencing be coming from another source such as torque converter or engine miss? its only just started to do this. It does this at the same rpm in 1 ,2, 3, under load, and the vibration is only slight when free reving to 1700 rpm. Thanks kris

My wife drives a 95 Camry 4 cylinder csx. One day she rang me complaining of this terrible vibration as she accelerated . I came home and drove it around the block and did not notice anything. However she insisted something was wrong so I looked closer. It did have a vibration after all between 2500 and 3000 rpm. It did not make any difference what gear it was in . The vibration was even there in neutral. At first I thought it was the harmonic balancer. A mechanic suggested it may be the engine mount. Neither of these was the cause, it was a broken bracket holding the exhaust pipe underneath the motor which had been welded and had broken and was banging against itself at 2500 to 3000 rpm.

I think I found it. Number 7 spark plug has it porcilin broken all the way around. The vibration must have been coming from a miss from no 7 cylinder when driving. The more I drove it the worse it got and then started to develop a miss while in neutral and at idle. The plugs very well could have been the origional denso's. Does anyone have any suggestions on what plug to fit in a turbo charged motor??? I think denso plugs may be the best???
