Hello Crew,
Kinda two part question here.
I have a engine that was pulled from a '95 LS400. I'm trying to identify if this engine is CA or Federal emissions equipped.
I did find info on up to '94 there was a secondary air pump under the intake for CA emissions but cannot find much on '95 and higher 1UZ.
The donor car that this was pulled from had two ECUs. One installed and the other in the trunk rolling around. When I searched the ECU part numbers they are both for '95 (one CA the other federal). Unfortunately I cannot recall which was installed nor the decal under the hood...
Any information that can be shared on stripping just the CA emissions items to make it Federal that can be shared would be awesome. The county I live in will need to have this project vehicle pass visual and running smog testing. So if this is a CA equipped engine I'd love get down to as basic emissions as possible and use the federal ECU.
