I will be doing a conversion with a Celsior 1uzfe into an e23 , the current engine is a front sump and so is the Celsior , it also helps that I have a Celsior so lots of spare stuff , even if I had to mod the sump it would be worth it to have all the ECU and other stuff the same .
Question is does anybody know of a similar conversion ?
Would help a lot to get a bit of a heads up , have done a fair bit of searching but haven't found a similar project , wouldn't matter if it was the later 86 onwards e32 as the chassis is near identical .
Help please .

Im just about finished my 1uz e30 conversion :) prob no real help for you but i wish you luck! shouldnt be to hard to do in a e23 as there is alot more room than the e30 (not that it was hard in my case)

Thank's for the reply , haven't been able to find anything at all anywhere !!
Maybe this will be a first .
If I'd known you live in Ch Ch I would/could have paid you a visit , lived there for a bit way back and have been back twice in the last 2 months .
My brother has a 93 charcoal grey LS400 , looks good and hard to miss , has SSR wheels on it and 4" dumps out the back with HID headlights , say hello if you come across him !!

Oh well next time your in these parts give me a pm and ill show ya mine.I think ive seen your bros car to! very nice

Hay, I'm currently putting a 1U into a E34 535i which is virtually identical to the E32.

Main things I've done are convert it to rack and pinion steering (using a rack from a SW20 MR2), move the brake booster back by taking out the alloy spacer and moving the ABS unit forward to next to the washer bottle.

Man saying it like that makes it sound so easy......

Hello from the other side of the world. I found this post via a Google search. I am putting a Chevy V8 into an E34. My build thread is here.

I am interested in getting info on putting a rack & pinion into the E34 as was mentioned above. I am putting a Mustang Cobra Hydroboost (uses power steering fluid to power assist the brakes) brake system in place to eliminate the brake booster. Since I have this setup and it appears to be the same size as the SW20 MR2, I was wondering if I could use a rack & pinion from the Cobra as well.

SamB if you have any more info or pictures I would appreciate it.

Hay L33E34, your wagon looks good, love the wheels, same ones I've got!!

First up don't use an SW20 rack, it turns the wrong way......

I'm using a AE101 Corolla rack now, needs a few mods and I'll have to change one of the mounts I've made.

What ever the rack you use the important bit is the width (rack end pivot point to pivot point 610mm) and it's mounting location to avoid any bump steer issues.

I'm post some pics for you as soon as I get some!!
