Thanks to Gloverman WE got my 1990 crown 1uz (powered with a linkplus) going this weekend, It sounds Great, I just wanted to hear it running before I did the timing belt and water pump ect. I've got it mounted in a 1946-47 Jailbar, I'm waiting for one of Kdogs tiptronic to arrive. In the meant time has any one got any ideas to get the trans to function

If you connect the auto transmission shift lever and move it you will get the transmission to work after a fashion. Put it in L and it will be in first. Put it in 2 and it will be in third . Put it in d and it will be in overdrive. Put it in R and it will be in reverse.

Tried that and it didn't move. I've Got Kdags controler but hav'nt wiried it up yet, But I would like to drive my truck on and off the trailer in the meant time and was hoping to do it just using the shifter. Do I need to connect only wires on the trans at all ???

With both solenoids off (ie no wiring connected) it is in 4th gear when the shifter is in drive. It will do exactly as madmont said above when the shifter is in the other positions, all gears except 2nd are available. If the car wont move while manually shifting the lever check the trans has fluid in it!

If i'm running an aftermarket ECU (Linkplus), do I still need to use the vacuum lines from the power steer pump? I'm having a problem where the motor starts to rev up on it's own (possiable vacuum leak) and when I unpluged the two leads from the power steer pump and pluged them off, it made no difference to motor idle speed. It seams to be running rich too

Rusty,

You don't need the idle up facility of those two lines. The engine may drop revs when you wind on lock at idle but otherwise they don't do anything.

Once above idle they do nothing.

Hey Rusty, I have just blanked mine off and im using the Link, and yeah the revs die a weee bit but its not too bad. I am running the remote 1UZ power steer pump but it should be roughly the same as yours.

What The remote Power steer pump off?? I have about 5mm clearance between my bango bolt for the hose and the chassis. Would it help me or do you think the motor wont move that much

i have about 5mm between my steering universal and my header and i havnt got close to it when iv revved the engine, your engine should rock away from the chassis on that side when you rev it so you should be sweet. otherwise if you had the hydrualic fan pump you could use the banjo off there and get it modified so it clears the chassis better??? This is what i have done. I had the factory 1UZ remote power steering unit as my engine was the 92' SC400 rear sump motor.
