I need your help guys.
I have heard rumor that the UZ alternator (possibly the LS400) will bolt onto the M series engines (minor mods to bracket needed). I would like to use the UZ alt because I am swapping a 1UZ in later on and could just swap this from my 5M to the 1UZ.

I do not have access to a variety of lexus alternators, so I have a few questions.
-Do any of the UZ or Lexus alternators have mounting positions at 12 and 6 o'clock, or respectively exact opposite sides of each other? or close to that?
-What shapes are the plugs on the alts? (I've heard that many toyota plugs are same)
-Since I would need to put my larger diameter twin V-belt pulley onto the alt to use it, it would slow the alternator rpm and therefore have lower output at lower rpms??

If specs cannot be given, even pictures would help towards me knowing if I can fit one onto my 5M for now.
Even a point to where I can find this info would be appreciated.

No-one....

Ok, I"ve been trying to find out from importers and other people somewhat familiar with lexus parts....

I've found a few pics, not sure if they're misleading, the 1994 Lexus ES 300 V6 -1MZFE looks like it'll work, can anyone confirm this is the same alternator?

Also heard from a friend the early 90's LS400. Cannot confirm with pictures though

All 1UZ alternators have the same mounting arrangement. I should clarify that and say the UZZ32 (active suspension Soarer) may be different.

They definitely do not have mounting lugs opposite one and other.

The electrical plug is round.

Zuffen,

Thanks a bunch, I have found a few pictures of lexus alts, but very few with description from which drivetrain and which years.

I'm trying to learn as much as I can without asking (as I do not like to annoy people), but i found it difficult getting specs on Lexus parts, and there is no Lexus dealer here to go and talk to.

Thank you madmont, I'll either have to use an adapter or go a different route.
The reason I really was hoping it would work, my 5M alt is going bad and I should get a high output alt. But don't wanna spend a lot on one and then not fit onto the 1UZ in the next year or so.
