1UZ in 93-98 Rx 7

The 1UZFE EGR Delete Kit is available for sale here.
i think it might. probably not with turbos though. maybe if they were mounted infront of the motor. i have seen series one to three rx7s with chevy v8s fitted, and i found this series five (or four?) with 1uz, but the series six and seven models ('batmobile') have quite tight engine bays, even with a small rotary engine. a 1uz powered batty would annoy many a rotang fan.

I have this car in my workshop at the moment sorting some bits and pieces out. Goes well and handles nicely. Looks like the radiator hoses are around the wrong way - thermostat goes to the top of the rad at the moment and some of the wiring on the link ECU are wrong. Cheers Kelvin

Hi, I don´t know. The rx-7 engine bay is not so big. Why do you want to put an 1uz in your rx-7. I really like the 1uz but it is heavier than the 13REW, it is more expensive if you want to modify it and more complicated.
The rotary engine is not so reliable, it is very delicate but is cheap to modify. No forged pistons, rod, no cams to mod. I like the 13REW into the rx-7. It keep the weight balance.

There is a guy that put a corvet engine -rx7 monstrosity- into a RX-7 check www.rx7forum.com

Lets not get started on the whole weight issue when it comes to RX7s. I have an 88 Rx7 with an LS1 and a T56 transmission. My car weighs 2915, the same as it did when it had the rotary and all the related turbo hardware. There are a ton of guys doing V8 swaps into RX7s, 1st, 2nd and 3rd gen cars. The 3rd gen cars work best with LS1 engines and they fit perfectly.

look in the V8 RX7 forum for more details.

I am here exploring alternate engines and I think the 1UZ would make an excellent engine for an RX7 swap.

The weight distribution of an RX-7 with an LS1 is actually a little better biased towards the rear. The LS1 is an incredibly light engine. I think that if the LS1 would fit, then the 1UZ would fit too, but the LS1 is pretty compact and I'm not sure how it compares in size to the 1UZ.

I know the LS1 fits, and if I had an RX7 I'd go that route with a T56. Sorry but if your swapping motors with a different company (mazada to something else, why not use a Chevy V8?) Me personally, I dont think you get the respect from the Chevy guys, and the Rotary guys disrepect it too. Thats why I say stick with companies. Im putting a Toyota V8 into my Toyota Car, and I think that will make me more so liked by Toyota, rather than swapping in a cheaper costing less complicated Chevy V8. My 2cents

But its so much fun to show up at the Super Chevy Show with a Mazda and run high 11s through the mufflers against open header cars barely running 12s.

I could give a rats ass what the Chevy or Rotary guys think. I give my respect to any vehicle that is put together well and that performs. All the Mazda guys talk about is how " you ripped the soul out of your RX7"!

They need to get a grip.

With that being said, I think a 1UZ with a T70 would be very cool in an RX7.

Well I really don't care who my car pleases besides myself. And personally, it doesn't matter who made what as long as the car kicks butt.
