The differance in iron & aluminum in just the v6 castings is pretty big. It's the differance in one guy picking up a 1mz-fe's all-aluminum block v6 by himself & requiring two guys to pick-up a 3vz-fe's iron block, built to very close demensions.

Marco they do. That's how they've weighed them every since they started publishing that statistic. The weight is what it would weigh if you just yanked a compete engine straight out of an engine bay. Coolant & all.

Why wouldn't they use the rocker arms and cam girdle for a staged camshaft setup?

Yahmaha pretty much designed the 2zz-ge, it even says Yahmaha on the timing cover. It's also the only Toyota motor to use two cam profiles (VVT"L"-i).

Yamaha have been designing and building engines and heads for Toyota since at least the late 1960's.

They designed the 20v head on the ST and BT motors.

Don't forget the 3sge beams and the 3sgte engines either not to mention the designed the heads for the ISF as well as the 1zzfe while the completely designed the 2zz also there was the always venerable 16v 4age which they designed the head for if Toyota whats great flowing performance heads they always call upon Yamaha, haha they even had Yamaha's music department tune the LFA's exhaust.
