Heres a tricky one.
i have wired the tacho output from the igniter to a vs commodore tacho.
It works, kind of.
the needle moves, but i think it is expecting 3 pulse per revolution.
what signal does the 1uz igniter put out?
I would think 2/rev?
The ic in the tacho is a ITT 3003-393, but i cant find any info on it.
anyone have any idea how to make this work properly?

take it to whoever wired your car up im sick of fixing others job
nar just kidding
hehehehehehe
my converters might work but its cheaper to get tacho modified to suit a 4 cyl weak signal

That would be me. Mainly using your advice from these forums.
I should probably buy you a case of beer.

Would you post up how to mod the Tacho?
Its a common unit. std VDO
Or is that giving away the magicians secrets?

i dont actually do my tachos i give em to an instrument guy i deal with
just sne dit to an instrument guy and say u have a 1uz in a vs commodore
and u want tacho to be a 4cyl tacho

i can sell u a signal converter and booster to get the 4cyl 1uz signal to work on the 6 cyl tacho but parts alone come to 280 bucks
u could try building the jaycar correction unit but i have heard these fail sometimes down the track so its much easier to send it to instrument guy
