I got a mono amp for my sub, and it's connected to my sub box in the truck which is connected to my read deck(like the fella at lexls.com) anyway, i was getting an amp for my components and i don't know where to stick it. I've heard that under a seat they can over heat. Should i just get a flashy good looking one and mount it in sight? or is there a good spot for it it? or is under the seat not bad at all?

Overheating an amp. is possible but it's also due to the heat dissipating efficiency of the amp., such as enough air vents on the cover or better with a built-in fan. However, mounting the amp. under the seat wouldn't overheat the amp. given enough air around it. I've been in the car stereo field for a long time, but I've rarely seen any amp. got overheated this way. One tip to make the amp. work cooler is by matching its power with the woofer, using appropriate gauges for wiring, and not too many connections which create resistances causing the amp. to get hotter.
