I've finally purchased one of my dream cars. It's a 2001 GS430 with 42K on it.

I want to do something with the exhaust and the bits of information I recall from Jbrady and the rest of you has stuck in my head.

There are some nice pre-packaged exhaust systems for the 400/430 but I fear the piping size may be too large . I also don't want something loud either.

Should the 3UZ guys still be looking for a 2 1/4" diameter pipe?

Has there been any other considerations since last year that have come up?

Get some snaps of the exhaust headers with the covers off.

Also some snaps off the engine with the covers off would go down well.

It will be interesting to see what exhaust it has stock, to see where the best gains can be had.

Yes, 2.25" is the way to go.

Lots of good info on the header thread in CL. I would post here but honestly the volume has gotten so large that I just don't have the energy.

That explains the 0hp improvement for the 3UZ over the VVTi 1UZ

Yes, full exhaust will be worth it, but tuneable management will be needed to get the full effect.

Other than that just get a catback, make it sound a bit meaner
