I did search from the board but not sure about weight of complete 1UZ engine with transmission (automatic). Is it weight 420lbs or 386 lbs or any correct number?

thank you,

I dont know, but probably more like 500-550 with a tranny. Depending what acc's it has was probably the 420/386 numbers. The tranny weighs about a hundred pounds, maybe 20 more with the torque-o-verter.

420# was what I weighed mine at when it came out of the car with all accessories still on. I have a trans I can weigh tonight.

420lbs is for engine and accessories exclude trans, right? Could you please weight the trans? Is it automatic trans?

thank you,

My engine and trans should be arriving tomorrow.
I'm going to use a 1.o Te load cell (calibrated) to get the weight of the engine and trans, then the engine without the trans but all the ancilliaries attached.
I'll post the results when I can.

Chris.

in kg obviously

Cool, I thought the 1UZ VVTi coils were the same as the 2UZ Tundra, but evidently not.

Trust me to pick the one load cell with a display that was massively out of calibration.
Having carried out a few tests I found that it was over reading by only 75%!

The corrected numbers are:

Complete engine 'cut out' as removed from the car (ie. engine, all pumps, alternator, 'box, engine loom, manifolds, mounts, fan etc) = 255kg

Engine less 'box and torque converter = 186kg

Weighed my 1UZ motor/trans on Saturday still with oils, all accessories and full wiring loom including computer and got 309kg.
