water temp light is on

I have a 92 sc 400 and the yellow water temp light is on, car doesnt overheat, I changed water temp sensor and sender and vaccum switch and the light is still on. Anyone kno what the problem could could be?

I have the same issue on my 93 SC400. It goes off as it pleases. I've searched multiple Lexus forums to no avail.

For now I just keep an eye on the temp guage and make sure it doesnt go too high. So far it hasnt.

There is no water temp light.

If you are looking at the little picture of a radiator, then that is telling you that the coolant is low in the overflow bottle.

I figured as much (coolant low), so I filled it up. But even with a full overflow bottle and radiator, the light still comes on randomly. My guess is either the sensor or it's wiring is bad.

This used to happen a lot with XD-F series Falcons. The remedy was usually to clean the coolant level switch. Note that's NOT the temp sender.

Dunno if that'll help or not.
