So I have been thinking about a 4.7l complete vvti longblock swap using original sensors and ecu from my 98 gs. These are getting cheap at the junkyards now. This would effectively let the 4.7l spin to 6200rpm. Also note that i have ppe headers, full exhaust and a 3.25" bumper scooper CA. I know the cam profiles are likely different than a vvti 1uz but would this choke if any at an already conservative 6200rpm? I always thought that the low low 225hp ratings were due to lower revs and safer tune?

What are your thoughts on a complete 4.7l vvti into a gs400?

Pros and cons regarding head flow, vvti differences and cam profile.

Thanks in advance.

Im finding it interesting that it makes 270bhp at 5500rpm. Thats a lot of potential. Torque peaks at 3500 I believe as well. Of course motor mounts need to be made and pans swapped.

Does anyone know if 1uz and 2uz intake manifolds are identical?

I know of a guy over here using the block of the 2uz with its crankshaft, not sure about the Pistons and rods but he is using complete 1uz heads and 1 uz control. Can't remember if it's vvti or not but he expects a lot of it. When it's done I'll get some pics and post them here

you can bolt non-vvt 2uz intake to 1uz-fe vvti
It's a bit higher and have no ACIS system
