I have just done some more 1uz VVti engine wiring and made a short video of the bypass unit and posted it onto my business facebook page

I have 8 more ypass units which I am presently working on and more coming from overseas. Each one takes me a while to make and then I like to test each on on a running motor. I have a process that I work through of testing the ECU before starting. I have had 2 ECUs that are faulty , I suspect from dismantlers being rough or water damage. These ones dont even communicate with the scanner from the beginning. One was mine and one a customers.

I have one at the moment which has the same numbers as other I have done but brings up a completely different set of codes. Normally a security ECU brings up that there is no communication with the immobiliser but this one ECU brings up body control ECU fault , door open switch fault and only after trying to start an engine with it does it bring up no comms with immobiliser. That one is going onto my experiment shelf. I will look at that one later.

Thats the same problems I was having, the ECU is now on a similar shelf.:D

I have been doing a few more boxes lately. I spent some time over easter making some for stock and they are all now used so will have to make more. I now have to wait for some of the componants my normal suppliers dont keep alot of them and they are a bit specialised.

I had a second look at my problem ECU and it decided to behave and I now have that one sorted.

Each boxs gets tested many times throughout the process. The final test is when its all together and a video gets made of each one running an engine.

The five ECUs stacked on the engine had their programming and alignment done today. They where tested many times to ensure consistant results and are now ready to be sent to the overseas customer. Yes all are off to the same customer who has 5 VVti conversions in his workshop.

With some leaving some more have also arrived. One from USA yesterday and another is on its way from the UK. Most of my overseas units are presently coming from workshops.

I still need the ECU to program each unit. Normal price is around $1000NZ. They customer with 5 I did do a sharp price. Takes around a day to build , program and test each unit.

About that. I got what looked like a email reply from you yesterday but it was a bit funny looking. Did you reply to the email I sent you or was it a spam? Cheers

I have a 3uz loom and ECU hanging on the wall. Havent had time to play with that one yet. Its on my list but I have a pretty long list. Cheers

Hiluxfan. A spare would be handy. I have wired a few 3uz , some with 4 litre management and some with LINK Xtreme. Just finishing a 08 hulix with 3uz. I have one myself which didnt come complete as it was meant to. Its going to be one of my test vehicles. We have just received another one to do so will be doing the security on this one. Wanting to fit the security into the hilux its going into. Might be tricky as its smartkey by the looks. If toyota can make it go so can I. The guys where excited to fire the cut up.

if your front cut contains certification ecu and steering column control ecu, just run them together with engine/ect computer in the hilux and you're done

Thats plan A George but have another idea to play with yet which will be plan B. Should make a 2wd go ok. Its really hard to get all the correct bits for this model so a front cut was the only option. I also wanted the shifter for reasons that you know. Next to make it all fit nicely and look likes its factory fitted. Cheers

Wow that is a really neat front cut! Looks like its got very little kms on. Wish mine was like that when I got it. :D
Gloverman, I sent you a mail.

My supplier is pretty good at supplying good parts. They only cost a little more and I dont mind paying it. Thanks for the email. Ill check it when Im at work next

vvti pinouts

Can you supply the pinouts for the 4 and 5th plugs and the big grey or blue plug on the ecu? I see they do not go to the engine but I have an engine here and I want to get it wired up.

I have some pinouts. I am assuming you are wanting it for the 4 litre 1uz VVti from a UCF20 vehicle? I have wired over thirty now so pretty sure I have them. There is a set I can give away. These are in several places on the internet but if you flick me an email at [email protected] I can forward them through. I have some much more involved sets with step by step instructions but these are not free. Cheers
