I am going to buy a set of rims for my 1994 SC400. The fronts are 18X8.5 and the rears are 18X10's. What is the best fitting and looking size tries for these rims? Thanks.

Ive got 18x9's all around on my 94 gs3. I run a 255/40/18 front and a 275/40/18 rear. The rears fit perfect flush w/rim and the fronts I could step up to a 265 and it would look good. I have the kumho 712's. I love em they are pleanty sticky for me.

Time to switch it up thou, gonna go to 19's.
gonna do a 305/30/19 back and a 265/30/19 front

I dont think so. I have seen a supra with 335's I belive.
With my 275's on I still have 2.5" of clearance.
Im going to be installing tein suspension two weekends from now. Ill snap some shots for ya.
I figured the bigger the better for traction out back.
I have a friend with a 538 hp stang and hes only got 255's he cant get any traction till the top of fourth gear. I would like to make around the same HP but have the tires planted. (well as good as they can be with that much power)

what will the offset be on the new 19'' rims you want? just a word of advise the 19'' tires cost a lot more for a good tire

I have thought about the 19" tire expense problem. By the time I get around to upgrading wheels, the tires may come down in price ???
Not sure which way ill turn when the time comes 18's seem to be a nice ballance but the look of the 19" is sexxxy.
If I remember correctly the offset I have now is 42mm but I think that may change depending on what rims I end up going with.

Yeah Mark Tozer from AZ had 335's on the back of his 1000whp supra but he had the TRD widebody kit on it. The largest I've seen a stock Supra run were 315's and he told me they would rub

I agree with you toojayzee, the 19's do look the best by far, but then you have to bite the bullet and buy the overpriced tires. I guess its a tradeoff. I have 19's now wtih a 245 tire (8.5" wide rim) and with an offset of 38 i get rubbin in the front, back is really close, but it clears. Just make sure you get the right offset or it could ruin your plans for having the perfect rim, lol.

It's perfectly fit on SC with 245/40/18 front & 275/40/18 rear. I use 245/40/18 all around with 1/4" spacer front & 1/2" spacer rear because I'm thinking about rotating the tires in the future.

With that said I have decided to run 265-30-18's all around for the same reason. Rotation....

If you lower your car for more than 1", the fender might rub the front tire. Also, 265/30/18 might be too thin for the 18. It'll be better with 30/19 or 35/19. However, it'll look just right with 245/40/18 front without bodykit guaranteed. I use spacer because I have a bodykit on it. You may check at www.intellexual.net/faq.html for more info on tire fitment. Make sure to check for the correct offset or you might not be too happy. Good luck.
