I have done away with all the egr stuff and relocated my oil filter because of space issues,but on the thermostat housing i have a water take off that used to run through the oil housing then onto the side of the block question is do i still need to connect this up or can i blank both ends off.

I just join the two hoses together after removing the oil cooler to keep the coolant circulating, but yes, you can also just blank them off.
