sump location 1uz - 1jz -2jz

i am currently looking to put a 1uz ion my commodore and oeginaly thought i needed a crown engine for the fron sump but reading a few post i have found that the crown is a front sump the soarar is a rear and the Celsior is the front sump
what about the 1jz and 2jz that came in soarar's ??? they would be rear sump also ??
i only ask as a mate is putting a 1jz in his commodore at the same time
are the sumps steel or alloy
if there only made out of mild still i have all the stuff to fabricate a new one
otherwise ill have to get it welded by another shop as we dont have the apropriate tig to do the jop

You'll need a front sump.
Same for 1JZ
All sumps are alloy uppers (cast), mild steel (pressed) lowers.

Front sumps came on LS400 and Celsiors.

They both use a single ECU/ECT whilst the Crown will run a manual much easier.

You can swap sumps but finding a front sump off an engine is a bit like winning the Lottery!
