Starter motor

Could someone please tell me where to locate the starter motor on the v8?

Under the intake manifold.

A bit hard to get at but not impossible.

They suffer from heat stress and if you have the engine out get it overhauled (or put a new one in) and be sure it will start.

Just had mine done - took 2 hours in total.

1. Remove engine top covers.
2. Move injectors out way.
3. Undo intake manifold - 2 pieces.
4. Can now access starter.

The bolts holding the thing on go through backwards, the heads are against rear of bay, so you need a crowfoot wrench with balljoint extension or what not.

Do not let anyone charge you over $250 for this very basic job.

Wiring oval to round the wires go is it white on right red in middle and tann on left
