I looked for a while and searched, but didn't really find what I wanted.
1) What engines went with which years of SC400's ?
2) What engines will fit the SC400 perfectly(?3UZ-FE?)?
3) What engine (that is swappable) would deliver the most power in a SC400?
4)Is it possible to throw a sc300 engine in the bay, or a 2JZGTTE, 1JZGTE, 2JZGE VVT-I?
5) Which is better/easier/cheaper to do to get the most power: Supercharger, Turbo, Twin-turbo, engine swap

I know most of these questions are really close to the same, but any help is more than welcome.

There was only one engine used in the SC400 and that is the 1UZ-FE. Post 98 Got the VVTI version. All UZ engines would be swapable. The thing to keep in mind is that if you are pre98 and you went with a later VVTI motor, then you would need the wiring harness and ECU tid-bits.

Yes, all the JZ engines are swappable also using the mount stands from the SC300.

The most power at the most affordable price would probably be either build an turbo the existing motor or a 2JZGTTE just because there is far more aftermarket support for the JZ engine.

Yes it would. The 300 and the 400 are the same chassis and the 300 came with a 2jz. The 2jz-ge and the gte are the same motors basically.

IIRC, the mounts themselves are the same, it just the cast aluminum stands that you would need. Also about the stands, IIRC the 300 and the MKIV supra (both N/A and TT) share the same stands.

Sweet, what about the wiring. I know I would need the supra tt ecu, and wiring harness, but would that hinder any of my sc400 components (i.e., power seats, tilt steering, speedo, radio, heated seats, etc.)

Shouldn't have any affect on other items within the car. I'm pretty sure that only a small amount of wiring would need to be altered, but probably 95% or more of it would remain untouched.... One of the nice things is that Toyota (Lexus included) does on thier cars is make the engine harness its own harness with very limited intergrating of chassis wiring.

One thing to add about swapping in a JZ is that staying auto trans and using a JZ ECU and harness from an auto trans Supra would make life a lot easier, but is not necessary if you are wanting to go Manual trans.

Your best bet would be to do some web searching for info from guys that have swapped 2JZ-GTE engines into SC300's. This is a fairly common thing and and should be the same swap process being that the 300 and 400 are the same except for the motor, ECU, and Engine wiring harness. Everything else is still the same as far as I know.
