Raspy exhaust tone

Alright, this might sound like im crazy or something, but the curiousity is just getting to me! After i got my new exhaust when i would rev it in neutral and rev it up high like 6k it would start to get raspy (only hear it when behind the car). After i deleted my egr pipe (when i took it off i found out it had a huge crack in it) i could have sworn that it doesnt sound so raspy. Now is this even a possibility or am i just imaginning things?

Could be heat related.
I find my exhaust is more raspy when its cold.

After a good few mins of driving, it becomes a nicer, crisper note.


Dunno about the EGR though, don't have that on mine.
