another quick question - is there a cork gasket between bowl and sump? if not, just use normal gasket goo and torque to say 5 or 8 pound?

The full answer is:

No there is no gasket and yes silicone and a small amount of torque will do the job.

As for women. I have one and I can't afford another and have no interest in replacing/trading in my existing one. She tolerates my car fettish. Just!
