Perhaps some of you have seen or know about James Glickenhaus' gorgeous P4/P5 Ferrari?

Glickenhaus is a very wealthy ex-movie producer, money manager, and a hotrodder of the highest caliber. He maintains a fascinating collection of some of the rarest racecars of the 60's and he actually gets them out and drives them!

He freely shares his restoration work and experiences on the GT40s.com website, and posts there regularly. While he is certainly in a different league than most of us hotrodders, we can experience something of what it's like to own and drive these very rare cars vicariously through Jim's posts and photos.

Awhile back he was approached by Pininfarina to do an upgrade/conversion on an Enzo, essentially turning it into a P4/P5 - something which has never been done before. The work was finished late last year and the car has been taking many design awards all over the world.

Jim has recently pointed the GT40s membership to this site: http://www.repubblica.it/speciale/poll/2007/motori/concorso_risultati.html
where his car is competing for another very desirable design award, and readers are encouraged to vote on this page: http://www.repubblica.it/speciale/poll/2007/motori/concorso.html

Have a look at these cars, and if you feel so inclined, vote for Jim's one of a kind car. You'll certainly be helping a fellow hotrodder.

Don't get me wrong, I seriously respect the work that went into that and the balls to rebody an Enzo no less FFS but, am I the only one then that doesn't really like it?

I really don't want to disrespect someones work, but at the same time we have our opinions and, its just not really for me? :boggled:

People keep on raving about the new Civic we have over here but again...... am I the only one that thinks that it looks well..... crap?

Benji it's not my cup of tea either, but I've certainly got a lot of respect for this guy that went for it.

He's actually doing what many of us would like to do if we had fifty mil in the bank. What blows me away is that he doesn't keep these cars in a garage so he can sit there and sip champagne and look at them while they appreciate in value, he gets them out and drives them - even on the streets of NYC!

Here's a good article on the man, the car, and the rest of his collection: http://www.forbesautos.com/news/features/2006/ferrari-p-4-5.html

Definitely, and I do respect people who actually use cars like these and not just nanny them.....

If I ever got rich and owned something insanely exoctic, I'd still use it for what it was designed for originally....

I like the fact that somebody approached him with an idea, one that wasn't necessarily going to be profitable in anyway, asking him essentially to give them money so that they could build their project and he said, okay :)

Respect.

Well done, but i will also have to say i like the orginal's much better and i just don't find that car very attractive.
