I have a 21 diagnostic code for my 1995 LS400. I believe this identifies the front left oxygen sensor. Is this easy to get at? Does anyone have a diagram or photos of where it is loated? Should I buy genuine replacement part...quoted approx. $350 kiwi plus GST!!!! Will an alternative sensor fit and do the job? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Oxygen sensors are located in the engine headers or exhaust pipes before the flange that joins them to the exhaust system proper.

The O2 sensors are bolted into the side of each exhaust header with a large nut (around 1") which must be undone to remove the sensor.

Before you remove the sensor or release he nut follow the wiring up to the block and relaese the wiring from the grey plug and then release the grey plug from the block.

Look at after market units as you will save heaps.
