Overfill Tranny fluid

I recently drained the tranny pan. ANd Lexls.com said it should be about 2.3 something quarts. Lexls.com basically said whatever came out put that much back in. So thats what I did and I checked the dipstick and and its too much. Long story short, is there any harm in over filling tranny fluid?

Make sure you measure it either cold or hot. They are different in measurements.

thanks for that Lextreme. but my question is whether or not its harmful to overfill the tranny fluid. I dont see any harm in overfilling anything whether its the oil, coolant, or ps steering fluid except that it can overflow sometimes.

I tried that once !! noting happened … I fill my transmission with 4 liter and after one month I take out the extra oil ..
Also I try to run the transmission without power and it work !! just you will get 1-2-3 at short distance and hold at 3rd ​
