Opel manta ??

has anyone or know anyonewho has fitted a 1uzfe into a opel manta ,mk2 i think 1985 type?? is it possible ?

I've seen them with a Rover V8 fitted, so I guess fitting a UZ would be possible.

My brother had an imaculate snow white Mk2 Manta it was a fantasic car, it would have been even better with a 1UZ. Another one of those cars that you wish you put dust covers over and kept.

Go for it, and keep us updated with the progress.

Bear in mind the 1UZ is heaps wider than the Rover.

I had trouble fitting mine in the Range Rover engine bay.

Any other Lextremer's who have seen it will agree it very tight.

I wouldn't expect you to get the heads between the shock towers.

Better start measuring.

yea thats what im concerned about but for the love of me i cant find and details or sizes of the manta engine bay on the internet

Manta / iuzfe

Hi, I'm new to this forum and just came across this thread, I see its from a while ago but if anyone is still planning this conversion I would be glad to share info as I have a 1984 manta and a lexus ls400 and I am going to do the conversion. I should be starting once the better weather comes and will be glad to give any dimensions and possible headaches that i encounter. I plan making mine a manual gearbox, so thats the first problem as i believe the ecu controls both the engine and the autobox. I have over twenty years of fabricating and modifying experience but electrics and wiring is not my strong point.
Hope there are others out there that are keen and willing to share experiences.
