I did a search and saw lots of posts on interpreting specific codes and saw recommendations for people to go to the autoparts store to have their codes read and I also read a post indicating that the autoparts store's OBD II scanner would read an OBD system. However, I did not see anything recommending which scanner an individual should consider purchasing if they were interested in doing so.
I have an OBD I and an OBD II vehicle, would I need a scanner designed to read both of these applications, or does the OBD II reader work on OBD I?
Is there a sub $100 scanner out there that would do me any good? Any recommendations or input would be appreciated. Thank you.
