Newby , engine info please

New to the forum new to Lexus engine , just bought 97-2000 1uz-fe VVTI engine , incidently its on its way .Fitting it to a Lotus Excel . Does it have egr system fitted ? Has anyone fitted a W58 Supra gearbox .Thanks

I can't answer the EGR question but W58's have been fitted quite often.

The transmission is a little weak for the application so use restraint on the right foot.

I believe Castlemaine Rod Shop in Victoria Australia is still making adaptors. Castlemaine Rod Shop

No doubt there are manufacturers in New Zealand as well.

Thanks they do it all but its the other side of the world , gets expensive

You may find it better value to buy a proven product and pay the freight and Taxes rather than try and re-invent the wheel and spend more for (perhaps) less.
