WIRING DIAGRAM:

Fuel pump relay diagram contradicts the tab placed on wires????

On diagram it clearly shows Pink is 86+ & Green is 85-
where as tab on wires is opposite?

Can anyone shed some light on this please?

Also,

*Note that I'm using the x4 ignition module

The 2nd Pink wire Labeled Ignition. Is this power to both coils?
ie; I wire it to both coils?

And

Just to confirm, the red and green wires are the cam sensor?
There is only 1 cam sensor?

easy - Q1 - doesn't matter which way around it goes - will work both ways
Q2- pink goes to a switched ignition source - no wires for coil positives are supplied in the loom - you will need to add these - the microtech wire might be a bit small
Q3 - there are two cam sensors - your photo shows the LH coil and suppressor - cam sensors are the wires which come through the front of the cam covers - cheers

Cheers for that, also...

How do Toyota/Lexus number each cylinder?

What piston numbers are on the left and right banks as to ID which injector does what cylinder
and where its position is, if you follow me?

Looking from the front of the car at the engine is it;-
Left bank 1&7 3&5
Right bank 8&2 6&4

and does it really matter if this sequence is followed on a N/A set up when wiring the injectors in?
and if so can you explain why to me please?

ALI1UZLUX, here's Toyota's numbering convention.

They always refer to left and right, from standing at the rear of the motor, facing the flywheel. On this forum we generally follow that same convention. So when someone is talking about the right bank of cylinders, they generally mean 2, 4, 6, 8.

microtech will have lt16 soon which can do 8 injecotrs but its not sold to public yet

basically injectors from factory are paired like this

outer 2 on left bank

inner 2 on left bank

outer 2 on right bank

inner 2 on right bank

injecotrs dont matter as much as spark

i would just go the 2 coil setup using factory leads and dizzys

goin 4 or 8 coils is much more expensive and tedious

but depends what u want or money u got to spend

like 90 % of people that call me everything is done cheap

then if u want to wire injectors properly

just wire them u using the 1st 4 numbers in the firing order

as the number in the paired injectors

Hello Ali

You have the pairing correct -
For the ignitor just use two channels
Generally there are some instructions and diagrams in the back of the manual that comes with the microtech - cheers

As for the timing of the injection it makes a small difference. Sequencial injection improves throttle reponse and reduces emmisions but most drivers won't notice a difference when tuned correctly.
Cheers

The diagram for use with stock Ignitors and coils and doesn't
correspond to the loom supplied with the X4

Stock Ignitors: 4 wire loom + separate tach output wire

X4: 5 wire loom that consists of

1 x GND (Body/Engine earth)
4 x IGNITION OUTPUT TO IGNITION COIL -VE

and.... no diagram????

I take it 4 IGN OUTPUTS is so you can run 4 Bosch coils in
wasted spark.

ie; 1 output to each of the - VE side of 4 coils

I'm using the 2 factory Toyota coils.

Do I just use 2 of the 4 IGN OUTPUTS?

ie; 1 to each - side of 2 coils?

I no I ask A lot of questions, but its because I have never wired anything
like this up before.

Reason I ask this many questions is I want to wire it up right 1st go
properly and not screw it up.

Thanks for all your help thus far guys! Kudos to you all and this forum!

u really need to do more research

when u ordered the microtech did u tell them u wanted 4 coils or 2 coils

if u asked just for one to suit a 1uz then it will be set up for 2 coils

u might have to send it back and get it suited for 4 coils if u want to go that way

if this is yr first wire up then u need to learn more about how everything works

not being rude but i see this every day

difference is if u research then buy rather than buy then ask theres about afew weeks wasted in runing round changing things cause u bought the worng stuff

if u are using everything factory from 1uz then the diagrams from microtech should show u to connect the ign 1 and ign 2 to the coil triggers

u get 50% chance of getting it right

dont worry if yr wrong

just swap em over if enigne backfires

if u have no diags goto their website or fax them and they will fax them back

their website has everything u need

but first its best to learn how all this **** works cause if u do need to diagnose any problems then if u can get your head around it before u start then it helps in the end

anyway u might not be able to go 4 coils unless u mod microtech of get tune changed

and do u have a hand controller

it helps alot when diagnosing

Yep, I have a hand controller.

I requested factory 2 coil configuration.

I am not using everything factory, I'm using their Microtech X4
Ignition Module (Coil Trigger) which didn't come with a diagram,
and has different wire colours to diagram, hence I can't work
out which is IGN output 1,2,3 or 4.

I've asked on Microtech forum for someone to point this out to me
but no one has answered yet after a couple of days...

well when yr not using an x4 box on an ltx12 the ign wires are

ign 1 is yellow

ign 2 is yellow/black

so id guess to use that as a guide

id have 1uz lt8 diagrams somewhere either here or at home if i find them ill let u know

otherwise just fax them dont ring them

they are pretty quick at replying to a fax

as they do not answer the phone until after 1pm

That fits, there is yellow, yellow black, orange and orange black. I'll just leave orange and orange black out of the equation.
I have an lt8s/lt10s toyota v8 diagram.

Cheers for that sideshow.

AUX 2 Input WHITE and ORANGE, Its says;-

AUX 2 Input

E

-VE Output

On the tab placed on wire in loom.

In MT/LT handbook it says to refer Diagram.

In Diagram it says;-

AUX 2 Input to 12v switched IGN

I want to go with what the diagram says,
but just thought I'd check first.

leave iputs they are never used in normal cnditions

oututs are either idle motor

or fan trigger

OK, I'll undo that bit.

I have removed the Idle stepper and all water pipes that lead to the upper
intake. Not using it.

And yep, have an output wired to a fused relay and to thermo fan.
Whats operating temp; 86 degrees?

Are the Crank and Cam sensors polarity sensitive?

Do I have to use the factory coil suppressor?
(Its that thing next to the LH Coil with back/red single 12v wire coming from it?)
I have it connected in to both coils on + side, but I'd really like to turf it.

Also, where do I wire the tach output to?

The diagram shows - side of the coil plug
Hand book says it goes to coil trigger, not the coil
...Which doesn't work because I'm using the X4?
This is the last thing I have to do to complete the ECU.....

No spark?

I have 12V ign wired to black/red +ve post of both stock coils.

I have the 12v pink wired to one of the coils black/red +ve side also.
(Senses 12v up to the coil)

I have yellow and yellow black wired to the -ve side of each coil respectively, and have swapped to orange and orange black but still doesn't work?

I have the tach out put wired on one coil to -ve side (4 cyl)
- this makes the coil ticker? Is that correct? I have disconnected it because of the ticker noise.

There is power up to the coils, but there is nothing to the distributors or the plugs?

What am I doing wrong?

Also, can someone please tell me, on the fuel rail which side is "in"
(fuel from the pump) and which side is "out" (fuel returned to the tank)?
Just want to check, make sure I got it right is all.

do u have a hand controller and do u know how efi ecus work

uneed to test if u have signal at cam and crank

if u have that then u need to test if u have signal out to the xbox

then u need to seeif u have signal out of xbox to the coil neg

if u have not done this stuff before its hard to diagnose

this is what everyone on forums doesnt understand if it had started u would have gone **** how the f u kk did i do that
i must be super smart

but when things dont do what they shuld 90% of people on forums have no bloody idea on diagnising stuff or they dont know the principles of how the crank cam signals go

did u connect the crank and cam sensors the right way
white wire from these sensors is the earth
orange or red wire is the signal

then did u use the pass side cam sensor do nt use the drivers side

was the whole unit set up for a std 1uz twin sizzy and twin coil setup

but get yr multimeter and go thru how the whole system works

start at crank and cam then to microtech then out to xbox then out to coil

should only take 20 minutes to find whats wrong

tey are not that hard

if u dont have a hand controller then get one it is worth its weight in gold
