mercedes 4x4 1uz

just a quicky, a friend of mine put a 1uz in a mercedes 4x4 for an 80 year old friend who is a bit of a hoon and a well known in our town for his engineering shop he had many years ago, he still likes to tinker

Wow! Did the vehicle have a diesel in it before? What engine did the 1uz replace in his Mercedes? Kind of an unexpected conversion but it looks great.

Put a Mercedes badge on the plenum, swap the air filter for something more stock looking and people wouldn't know it wasn't original.

was 4cl petrol, it goes quite well. after seeing my hilux the owner decided it was a nice way to get an automatic and a bit more power, the transfer case has a jack shaft from the gearbox loke a suzuki so it was an easy adaption if not a bit tight
