MAF body delete

has anyone tried fabricating a higher flow MAF body cause i find when i really step on it i have a whistle coming from the MAF body like air is being drawin in too fast. i think a one piece intake would be very beneficial instead of 4 pieces. when i get some money i want to have a custom intake made that would still include the MAF sensor but on a one piece 3inch intake.

You can't replace the MAF with a bigger body or with an alternative sensor as it works on the Vortices generated by air flowing trhough it.

If you increase it's size you would alter the frequency generated.

It may be possible to alter the new frequency with a switch but you would need to be pretty good with electronics to try that.

Why not go to MAP sensing instead.

I have removed some material from inside the MAF with good results, but tuning is a difficult task afterwards.
A good way to maximize the setup you have would be to make sure the gasket that seals the MAF to the airbox is out of the airflow, and try and replace the small panel filter with something that has more surface area.
