Hey has anyone out there used lextreme cams? if so how do they stack up performance/quality wise? as they are quite alot cheaper than the ones ive been quoted from kelford cams. Cheers
Lextreme's are regrinds of stock cams; that's why they're cheaper than Kelford's which are made from brand new blanks.
Lextreme's are fine if you're on a budget and you don't have special lift/timing requirements.
Since they're regrinds, you'll have a corresponding smaller base circle and you'll need to take this into consideration when shimming the valves and checking clearances.
Lextreme stage I and II cams come with lash caps that are added beween the valve tip and bucket. I know lex has dyno plots before/after with these cams and the numbers are respectible.
