ok, I know that a newer style (front mount TB assuming VVTI) intake is not a direct bolt on replacement inplace of a early style (side mount TB) intake. What I am curious is if you were to set the lower half of a newer style intake on to the heads and block of say a 92 motor for example do the bolt hole line up?
here is my thought if the bolt holes line up, then a wedged shape adapter block could be made to accomodate the angular differance between the intake and the head being that there is a angle differance between the the two intakes and heads. if the bolt holes do not line up, it still could be possible as long as the bolt holes of one part do not interfer with the ports of the other part.
If anyone has maybe already tried this or has any points of interest or known problem that I am not seeing, please chime in and let me know.
