Hi all

I just put a new water pump etc into the car and now.
I think my Idle speed control valve is clicking.
It sounds like its hunting around.

Maybe I need to clean it and/or bleed the coolant.

I’m not experiencing any idle or running problems.

On the U.S. models clicking is normal operation for the Idle Air Control Valve (IAC) and indicates it is working. If the unit does not click several times after the engine is stopped it is faulty.

I wouldn't know if this applies to cars DU.

Hmm

US would be same set but has water going to the EGR valves.

Its kinda noisy, it clicks when you stop at the lights or drive off.
Im sure it didnt do this before I touched the cooling system.

Sounds, wrong to me, it's too loud for luxury car, the Japanese market Celsior (which I have) kept the hydraulic fan for years cos the electric fan setup was considered obtrusive.

I can't hear my IAC clicking when the engine is running, even with the hood open. It can only be heard once the engine is off and the ECM tells it to open fully, which results in several clicks after the engine is sut down.

If you hear clicking with the engine running and the hood closed, I doubt it is the IAC. You may want to isolate the source of the noise before continuing.

Peter Scott Planet Soarer has a great write up on overhauling the ISCV this month.

Worth a look.
