How to pull codes with no diagnostic plug??

Hey Guys,
Have just put a celsior motor and a crown box in a 92 2wd hilux.
Problem is it won't rev passed 2800rpm in N or park, and in drive its got a massive flat spot, I've tried two other computers and still the problem is there.
i can't hook a scanner up cause the diagnostic plug isn't in my "ready to go" loom.

if i bridge TE1 and E1 on the engine plug to put it in self test mode,wat do i bridge on the computer and wat do i hook my light up to???

If you haven't already, grab Kdog's wiring diagrams (from Peewee's link below)

On UzS131ECUpin/wire, you'll see 'w' (pin 5 on 22 pin plug) put your test lamp between that and a live 12V with the ecu in test mode.

You can do it in the diagnostic box. Check there is 12Volts at the B+ terminal. If there isn't fixing this may fix your problem , very common wiring mistake. Then using a test light run between the W and the B+. The light should flash the codes for the engine. If W is missing from your dianostic box it will be at the ECU - cheers

Cheers lads, after hours of dicken round and eratic flashes i finaly have a code
