HID Light Conversions

Have seen the HID light conversions for sale and I am thinking of upgrading the lights on my Toyota Landcruiser Ute. I thought it might be better to fit HID to the existing headlights rather than fit spotlights to it.
Are the aftermarket kits any good? We have HID lights factory fitted to many of our tractors on the farm and they are fantastic.

Would they be illegal in Queensland?

I believe that if the kit is not ADR approved they are illegal. We sell the Narva kits at work and they specify that they are NOT ADR approved, for offroad use only. But check it out anyway.
