Fuel Pressure Issue

Having a fuel pressure problem on my 1UZ swap. Engine is 94 1UZFE from LS400. I put on a new external Walbro 255 pump. Just recently put on an aeromotive adjustable fuel pressure regulator, -6AN lines and russell fuel filter. Set the pressure to 40 psi at idle with the vacuum line disconnected. Connect it back and when I rev the engine the pressure will raise slightly but at 2K RPM it drops to about 20 psi and wont let me rev past 3500-4K RPM.

Does this sound like maybe the pump isn't working correctly?

get rid of cheap chinese clones of fuel pump and fuel regulator
fit back used toyota parts

Try swapping one thing at a time until you find the culprit.

It almost sounds like a restricted return line, or the Aeromotive is sticking.
