Exhaust Mod in California

I'll be moving to California by the end of this year. Is it legal to modify exhaust setup in California. I have 93 LS400 and planning to remove resonator and two middle mufflers. Thanks in advance.

Just keep the cats, o2 sensors and have a carb# ([size=-1]California Air Resources Board) [/size]for any mods between the intake to the catalytics. When you buy any engine performance parts that obviously mod the intake, electronics or fuel controls you'll want to make sure you get a sticker with the carb # that manufactures have to provide in order to sell their parts in Cali. Removing the resonators or mufflers shouldn't matter to the smog shop and I've never had a problem with all the cars and trucks I've had with modded exhausts. Don't sweat it.
